I love this song. a perfect musical description of the lightless world of the coelocanth, darkness and pressure punctuated by brief sprites of bioluminescence.

a defining album for me, and a brilliant and truly ambient track, a much maligned adjective in electronic music, but accurate in this case- like the soundtrack to a dream

When I bought Oil and Gold lo, those many years ago, I knew I would like "Nemesis". This song surprised me. I got shivers while listening, and that's as a lifelong listener of Vangelis, Jean Michel Jarre, and other electronic ephemera artists. The dreamy quality is often noted by listeners, but it's a dream that changes depending upon one's mindset and circumstances.

Indeed it is... that's why Michael Mann used it for the surreal scene in his 1986 film Manhunter, where the blind girl caresses the sedated tiger.
