21 Mar 2011, 14:07 by blodmarschFri 18 Mar – ChthoniC, Evile, Shrapnel
This event was my first time seeing Chthonic, who happen to be my favourite black metal band. I went to the venue early to try and catch the band arriving, they came quite late however so I gave up and ended up having a few drinks at the world's end with my partner. We started queueing at around 5 as we expected the doors to open at six. The doors opened at seven and we got the front. I positioned myself to the left of the stage in hopes of being in front of Doris, however, all of the bass players for the evening were on the right, so I ended up in front of Jesse Lou all night. Oh well. I ain't mad.
Shrapnel came on first. I hadn't heard them before but they played a decent set, the vocalist was a wee bit tipsy and spilled his can of beer a few times, but he avoided potential electrocution and performed with a lot of enthusiasm. He was quite sexy too, this pleased my partner and I.
Next on was Evile. I have to say, I'm not a fan. …

24 Nov 2010, 21:29 by Matt_InmanTue 23 Nov – Exodus, Man Must Die, Shrapnel
Shrapnel opened up the night with a decent thrash assault. They were very influenced by bay area legends such as Testament and Exodus themselves, and provided good entertainment for an Exodus crowd. The sound was good quality and the performance was tight. 6/10
The next band to take the stage were Man Must Die. They had a mix of grinding thrash metal and deathcore, which wasn't awful, but wasn't particularly good either. They did not generate as much of a crowd reaction as they had thought, with the large pitting space being left as simply a space for most of the set. However, towards the end, the Scots paid a tribute to their upbringing on thrash metal by performing a vicious rendition of Slayer's classic anthem Postmortem, which did a very good job in getting the crowd hyped up, with a lot more interest and enthusiasm being shown by the fans. Overall, an average set compared to what was to come. 4/10

7 Dec 2009, 14:37 by BromadrosisDidn't do one of these for 2009 on last.fm... That was a mistake. Time to get back to work.
Principle is the same. All new releases I hear will receive a score out of 100. Updates will happen periodically. Scores may evolve slightly over time, though there won't be any big jumps.
= If it comes to a choice between buying a pill that'll cure your child's cancer or this, buy this.
[90-99] = Essential. Create an unholy army of flying zombie monkeys to help you obtain this!
[80-89] = Excellent shizzle, recommended to all. Unless, of course, you're a poothead with vile taste in music stuff.
[70-79] = Still pretty good, if somewhat unremarkable. Mostly only for fans of the band/genre.
[60-69] = Maybe you'll like it, maybe you won't. Approach with caution and keep your finger hovering over the button that releases the hounds.
[50-59] = Mediocre. Only for the true collector with more money than good taste.
[40-49] = Horse manure by any other name... But hey, at least you got a spare jewel case now.
