Shattered Hope – Enlighten the Darkness
Biography
1) Shattered Hope is a greek atmospheric doom/death metal band. They formed during the days of July 2002 in Athens. After many line up changes, they ended to the current one which exists from December 2003. That time they were also working on their own songs. Finally, on May 2005, they released their first demo A View of Grief which includes 6 songs. After that, they gave some concerts for its promotion.
On December 2007 they released a two-song promo simply named Promo 2007 and played lives along with bands such as Saturnus, Mourning Beloveth, Mar De Grises, Ataraxie, Ahab, Inborn Suffering and Mourning Dawn in Greece and abroad. Meanwhile the band was recording its debut album which was finally ready on January 2010 under the name Absence and is consisted of seven mournful stories.
After this release, a co-operation was developed with Lugga Music Productions and Adrian De Buitléar. From this time and on, Shattered Hope are promoting Absence and booking gigs, with the aid of Lugga Music, making a start with a support act to the godfathers of doom My Dying Bride on January 2010. A really memorable show.
On July 2010, a remarkable and well-known doom label, Solitude Productions, was interested on Shattered Hope’s music. The band had a deal with the label and Absence was released by Solitude Productions on December 2010.

Shattered Hope will perform at DOOM SHALL RISE VIII. The festival will take place, as always, at the Chapel in Göppingen, southwest of Germany, on 26th & 27th April 2013.
