Biography
Shaman Headinvader records in his Mindlab studio somewhere in France.
He wants to transform and reshape the listener and release them from their aural cage, and states that “the universe is chaos so should be art. Order is an illusion. It reflects how we’d like things to be, not as they are. Order kills and tames energy”.
Influences include Sun Ra, Alice Coltrane, Third Ear Band, Anima Sound, Limbus 4, AMM, This Heat, Gong, Lard Free, Frank Zappa, Captain Beefheart.
SH believes that while listeners may find his sounds strange, they are never going to get a different head if they listen to normally-played and constituted music. SH also believes in the necessity of not consciously thinking when making music, using chance procedures in the construction of his sound canvasses. To him, lost inside his distorted wisdom, this seems the only way to reach the unknown dimensions that lie within us all. “This is rebirth, a journey back to past lives and forward to ones you’re yet to live. It’s time for a new upbringing - a real beginning. De-program yourself and your ears. Cast away melodies, your former child’s toys - very pleasant items for early musical life and good nostalgia fetishes, but not proper vehicles for penetrating mysteries and (self)-discovery”.
July 2009: Debut album “Songs of Silent Contemplation” released.
February 2010: “Sickness Of Innocence” album released.
March 2010: “Mind Over Monkey” album released.
