Biography

There are 3 bands with this name:

1. Shady Lane are a pop/electronic four piece from Sydney. The band consists of lead man Jordy Lane on guitars and vocals, Pete Avard on drums, Sarah Jullienne on synth/keys and Conrad Richters (Richard In Your Mind) on bass.

Shady Lane, have tackled terror in their second album, ‘Built Guilt’, a wistful but wise big brother to 2009’s ‘Here We Go, Down the Black Hole’. Finding as much joy in recording as writing, Shady Lane bounced between the coziness of a friend’s home in the Blue Mountains, and the urban womb of a Sydney studio. Using equipment like a $2 microphone made out of a speaker cone, a Korg MS-20 synthesiser, a 70s Farfisa Organ, and recording tracks as a live band to extract the organic lifespirit of the sound, Built Guilt is an intangible beauty. With songs that embody the electricity, fear, love and curiosity of existence, Built Guilt reflects how your enemies, like your friends, can elicit some amazing and powerful imagination.

Out May 18 through Rice is Nice.

2. Shady Lane really started in 2004 as a solo project by singer/songwriter Todd Picht. At that time, Todd was still in high school, working on defining his sound and figuring out what kind of music he wanted to write, never wanting to confine himself to one genre of music.
