Humbly venturing her way to join a solar doyenne sorority of some of the most exciting female artists around, Sewuese is about to shine.
But forget what you heard, true stars aren’t born overnight. This versatile talent has so far worked with artists including Bryan Ferry, Est’elle, Groove Armada and an impressive list of pop’s music giants.
Sewuese’s acoustic EP, entitled Silence, was exclusively distributed at the British Independent Film Awards and caught the attention of many, including the BMI. She’s acquired endorsements from brands such as Religion and Nike, and she was hand-picked to sing and appear in the one of the famous Carlsberg adverts by one of the world’s biggest ad agencies, Saatchi & Saatchi.
Just a few of her accomplishments include her features on albums such as Mercury nominated rapper Sway (Konvikt), including the radio-championed single Saturday Night Hustle with Lemar, with who she joined in a live performance on Jools Holland. She also shares credits with artists such as Bryan Ferry and Groove Armada on the track ‘Shameless’ (2010), and on Ferry's most recent album Olympia, Atomic Kitten’s Liz McClarnon, has featured with rapper Ty, fashion Designer Wale Adeyemi and on BBC 1xtra as a rising star. Credentials of lead-singer in soulful electronica band Bugz In The Attic and now a solo promo song entitled ‘The Moment’ produced by dance prince Donae’o has stood her in great stead for the success now anticipated of her.
Now in the studio recording with more impressive names for her solo project, Sewuese embodies contemporary melodic songs with strong electronic, hip hop undertones, and rocky regal overtones, which create her organic urban cross-over sound, all delivered with style and sincerity.
Her journey this far has pushed her to be brave when making her own brand of alternative pop-RnB.
Sewuese became a piano enthusiast, and furthered her musical knowledge studying Music Production at college, and working with producers such as Morgan Spacek (Raphael Saadiq) Al Shux (Jay-Z), Fusion and Alex Da Kid (Eminem/Rihanna).
When she’s performing live, you observe Sewuese in her element: ‘I love music that can make you dance and cry’ she says. And that’s exactly what her beats and tonal blends will make you do. Whether moving superstar Usher to tears with a heart-stirring vocal performance, being personally requested by Leon Ware, or Bryan Ferry, Sewuese simply remains true to her universally engaging talent.
