  • I just wanted to share one of my nicest memories...When I was around 14--I think it was 1963--I was at a Job's Daughters convention in Chicago, IL. Our "Aunt" Nell took us to the Empire Room in the Palmer House Hotel where Sergio Franchi was performing. There was a LARGE group of us girls sitting at tables ringside and as Sergio Franchi sang, we all nearly swooned because he was so handsome and wonderful! During the last song in his set, he came right to ME and took my hand. He looked right into my eyes as he sang. I felt like I was the only person in the room with him and, at the finish of his song, he gently kissed my hand. I was in love instantly--and was the envy of all the other girls! It's one of my nicest memories. He must have been a very nice man to bother with a silly young girl. :-) I'm an old woman now, and I still remember how special I felt that night.
