For most of the second half of the ’60s, Sergio Mendes was the top-selling Brazilian artist in the United States.
Timeless, his first album of newly recorded material in eight years, was released February 14, 2006 by Concord Records. It features a wide array of neo-soul and alternative hip hop guest artists, most prominently will.i.am of The Black Eyed Peas.
The first track, “Mais Que Nada”, was featured on commercials of Joga Bonito/Nike Football and 2006 FIFA World Cup video game.
The album also features Chali 2na of Jurassic 5, will.i.am of Black Eyed Peas, Black Eyed Peas, Erykah Badu, India Arie, John Legend, Black Thought, Q-Tip, Justin Timberlake and Pharoahe Monch.
