Sergey Markov born in August, 16 1986 in Kiev, Ukraine.
The first steps in music have been made in the age of 5: he studied the button accordion in his early years. When he was 7 years old, the long interest for jazz has been evoked by two famous vinyl records: Duke Ellington - Live in Paris and Albert Mangeldsdorff – Trilogiebefore.
Sergey has won in various youth music contests playing button accordion. With 16 years he took up the clarinet and moved the saxophone after only one year.
He studied in Kyiv Institute of Music named R.M. Gliera under conducting of outstanding Ukrainian jazz musicians as Igor Zakus, Aleksander Saranchin, Dmitriy Aleksandrov, Vladimir Shabaltas, Artem Mendelenko, Nataliya Lebedeva collecting more and more valuable experiences.
In the Institute he nearer faced jazz and improvisational music, quickly becoming part of Ukrainian young jazz scene. He played in concerts with Kiev Art Ensemble conducted by Honoured Artist of Ukraine - pianist Vladimir Solyanik, big band of the International Jazz Academy leading by Arc Ovrutski playing with Gregory Porter & Larry Willis.
Sergey performed on various Ukraininan and international festivals including Cherkassy Jazz Fest, Jazz Koktebel, Saulkrasti Jazz Fest (Latvia), Slavyanskiy Bazar in Vitebsk (Byelorussia) and others, played on Jazz Evenings by A. Kogan in Arena Entetainment, attended the international jazz master classes ChoJazz 2010 (Poland); has been playing with various singers and musicians and appearing on radio and TV.
