Serena Andrews is a singer-songwriter originally from Bangor, ME, now living in New York City. For nearly 12 years leading up to her relocation to NY, she lived in Providence, RI where she developed her musical and artistic work. She was an artist in residence for 2 years at AS220, an arts collaborative in downtown Providence, and performed both solo and as a vocalist with bands such as The Neo 90s Dance Band, Reverser, Simply Rad and Sweet 78.

Her original music is often categorized across several genres as pop, pop-indie, pop-electro, alternative, or sometimes even experimental. Andrews sings, plays keyboards and piano, and sequences the bass and drum parts in most all of her song arrangements. Early writing influences include Paul Simon, Bjork, Tori Amos, Carole King, Patsy Cline, U2, and Nat King Cole. Current influences include Radiohead, The Postal Service, Ratatat, Portishead, Imogen Heap, Cake and The Shins.

Her first release in 1996 was a full length album on cassette “Face in the Glass”, and then she did not release another studio record until 2000, with “Who’s My Mr. Kitty?” a short run full length CD. Andrews toured with that record along side local friends and performers, Kelly Walsh and Christine Hajjar in 2000 along the East Coast at smaller venues. Between 1999 and 2009, she released several “bootlegged” CDs including “Tablescraps”, a live recording from an in-studio radio show at WRIU in Kingston, RI., and limited edition releases like “Cozy Down”, “Praktis”, “Livingspaces” and “Autobiohazard”.
