Among the myriad of aliases and a.k.a.’s of singer/songwriter Miksu is Seppo Boisman. The name is taken from one of the most infamous multiple homicide cases in Finland, the Lake Bodom Massacre of 1960. Four teens went camping on the lakeside and three of them were killed and one badly injured (and after forty years accused and then acquitted of the murders). One of the slain teens was Seppo Antero Boisman, age 18.

The Lake Bodom Massacre’s influence on Seppo Boisman hasn’t stopped at just giving a name for the artist; the killings and myths surrounding them are a frequent motif in Seppo Boisman’s songs.

Seppo Boisman’s lyrical finesse is reminiscent of Kassu Halonen (e.g. Kirka), but Boisman’s unique and honest approach to the Bodom murders and other popcultural phenomena (such as Finnish monster-rock sensation Lordi) proves that Seppo Boisman is truly a part of the Finnish progressive rock/new weird Finland scene with something new to give.

As of Easter Sunday 2007 Seppo Boisman is no more. The artist himself has put the Seppo Boisman moniker on an indefinite hiatus and pursuing other musical projects, such as Tuulia.
