1. Sena’s birth in the Kurdish region of Dersim / Western Kurdistan (today’s Tunceli in Eastern Turkey) includes only a small part of the former language and cultural area; the music is not only everywhere in daily life present, there is also a central mainly part of the spiritual world of the Alawite dominated population. In the mythology of the people of Dersim - represent a living for centuries in secluded mountainous and largely pre-Islamic culture, its religious references sun, water springs, rocks, mountain peaks and inner retreat by (rhythm), singing and dancing - are the bards and folk singers of great importance : they are the sole and authentic narrators of this very old, rare and threatened extinction of the language, culture and music tradition.
