Biography

Second Half Of The Season (SHOTS) was a hardcore/metal band from Worcester, Massachusetts. The band originally consisted of Sam (guitar), Justin (vocals), Mike (bass), and Eric (drums). SHOTS recorded their first demo in Franklin, Massachusetts, which had an overwhelming death metal influence. They made countless copies and once they booked their first show nearby at the well-known Palladium, they took a chance and ordered hundreds of shirts. Their first set was an instant success and every demo copy and shirt was sold out. Shortly after, their friend Cameron joined the band to play rhythm guitar. Establishing themselves as a straight edge band, their style soon changed. Months followed and show after show was played each and every weekend, gathering a dedicated fan base and a close group of bands who became friends and often played on the same bill. New songs were being written by guitarist Sam and drummer Eric, and Justin was writing lyrics more based around their straight edge ideals and beliefs.

Spring 2007 rolled around and SHOTS was ready to record a full length album. The process was lengthy and tedious, but once the songs were recorded and mixed, the band wasn’t sure how they were going to start pressing the albums without help. Things finished up around May 2007 and they landed a few local shows with mega giants Four Year Strong.
