Sebastian T Burn was born and grew up, of that much we are certain. He began recording in the 1970’s. He was originally in the Brian Acton band before Brian had his terrible plane accident - a paper plane flew into his eye and he fell off his bike. Later STB joined Continual Combustion with outstanding success. This led to his formation of the New Continual Combustion and his first recordings with Steve Hart, who later become bassist on all the great recording of the 70’s. The highlight of the 70’s was the supergroup appearance at the Bromsgrove Custard Spitting Bowl.
In the 80’s he began recording with Prof. JMB Funk now infamous as ‘djtutor’ and “Borth Rap” was the hit of that era… The late 90’s saw Burn disappear from the public eye apart from one brief charity appearance with the Burnettes.
He has emerged from retirement in 2008 after nearly dying from oral cancer. Still married to the Countess STB has begun a new lease of life and last.fm is another attempt to promote the myth and legend that is Sebastian T Burn.
MOUTH CANCER FOUNDATION UK STATISTICS
In the UK, there were 7,697 cases in 2004. The mortality rate is just over 50%, despite treatment, with 2,718 deaths occurring in 2005. Mouth Cancer kills one person every 3 hours in the UK because of late detection. An increasing number of young people are being affected and 25% of the cases have no associated significant risk factors.
Other organisations may quote lower statistics. In fact the statistics are much worse. They are missing out vital data which is very relevant. For example, ask children where saliva is formed? They will say “in the mouth”.
