“On the surface, Seaspin might seem like a new band. A few shows here and there, a few songs floating around, and a recording catalog that doesn’t really go past one 5 song EP. Don’t let that newness fool you. There is a depth and a dynamic at work here that reaches back into the depths of sonic lust. A feeling that pushes out through the swirling shadows and wraps you up in dreams of both the past and the future. Rising, or perhaps spiraling, up from the ashes of Your Enemies Friends, a Los Angeles hardcore blast, Seaspin moves in a hypnotic and driving speed towards a brand new horizon.

The band is structured around the combined talents and attitudes of Ronnie Washburn and Jennifer Goodridge, who have managed to create a new fold in the heavy sheets of shoegaze. There are light and upbeat melodics, down and dirty distortions, and a seductive beauty that crawls out of every note. Influences and inspirations are shot through a sparkle and fuzz, until what you hear is falling somewhere between a thunderstorm and a dream. Touches of the Cocteau Twins hide in the guitar flashes, hitting against a backdrop colored by Curve and Lush. Scattered remnants of noise left on the floorboards by My Bloody Valentine are picked up and dusted off, thrown into the mix, and come out sounding brighter than ever.

While there is no full-length available yet, you can find the tracks of the self-released ‘Reverser” EP online and available at http://www.myspace.com/seaspin.

Seaspin continues to play shows and work on new songs, moving up and out into the stratosphere.”
