About this album
“Vice Verses”, released in 2002, was nominated for awards in several categories by the “JustPlainFolks” organization, and got airplay from virtually every major Chicago-area pop-rock radio station at the time of its release. Aside from writing and singing, McMillan played all instruments on the album, writing many of the parts right on the spot, in front of the microphone.
The album was produced by Jon Roberts, who recorded everything in his small home studio outside Chicago in the northwest suburbs - all in one room, and largely with one condenser mic.
After releasing the album, McMillan enlisted the help of Ian Narcisi (drums) and Erik Swanson (electric bass) to back him up at shows. I concert, Narcisi played an electric drum kit which simulated many of the hand percussion sounds on “Vice Verses.”
“Vice Verses” is available for purchase on most major digital distribution sites.
