27 Jan 2009, 14:38 by DJ_Pr1meHardcore techno, often referred to as just "hardcore", is a style of electronic music that originated in the early-to-mid-1990s in multiple locations including the Netherlands, Germany, Italy, Belgium and the UK. The style is typified by a fast tempo and the rhythmic use of distorted and atonal industrial-like beats and samples.
Hardcore techno is usually composed using music sequencers, and many earlier tracks were produced on home computers with module tracker software. Some examples of the software used are Fruity Loops Studio and Reason. The wide availability of computers, combined with the absence of financial remuneration, means that many hardcore techno musicians write for their own enjoyment and the pleasure of innovation.

If the score is small (extreme = 5) your musical preferences are very limited, and if it is large (larger than 80, extreme = 100), then you have an eclectic musical preference. 23 Dec 2006, 01:40 by XoliulBeen listening to Happy Hardcore for almost two years now, and I don't have much seperate tracks in this genre, just some mixes. Two Hardcore Nation triple CD's from WD UK and some Bonkers mixes, but after recently getting Bonkers XV: Legends of The Core from my brother, I once again realize how great this music actually is. Just the name probably scares away pretty much everybody, and that's a real shame. This music is just so unpretentious, as it's just about good fun; be it a really silly BadgerBadgerBadger sample, vocals from an old rap song, reusing te melody from old classics in a fun new way, a little experiment with breakbeat ir acid, or just a wicked melody that stays in your head. I also really love the way some of these songs combine hard crazy beats and melodies with sweet female vocals; the contrast makes for amazing songs most of the time (if it doesn't get too cheesy).
Too bad it seems to be popular in the UK only, I'd dance my ass off anytime to this music.
here's some of the tracks i really like:
17 Sep 2006, 22:28 by ForcerinenGo through your top 10 artists and add up the total number of listeners. Divide the average by the number of Radiohead fans (Radiohead is the artist with the most listeners). That is your "mainstream percentage".
Arctic Monkeys 144,674
Eraser vs Yöjalka 199
The Prodigy 174,652
Dougal and Gammer 480
Clint Mansell 43,480
Scott Brown 4,595
486,105 / 10 = 48,6105
(48,6105 / 365,472) * 100 = 13,3007453
Mainstream Percentage: ~13.3%
