Scorched Dog is an example of home grown talent, the brain child of a rather odd ex-secondary teacher who recently has been converted into a med student. He obviously doesn’t spend enough time studying for the fact he has had time to record…PITY THE FOOL who needs a doctor in a hurry!!
Currently Scorched Dog is a one man band; The man responsible, Jonathan Wright is a multi-talented musician with an ear for the obscure and eccentric. As a jazz muso and horn player of in excess of 15 years he has many influences in his style…He enjoys music styles from classical to metal, skipping mainstream country…however at time has been accused of having country rock tendencies. He found his feet as a live musician on the streets of Dunedin, New Zealand where he busked for inebriated students, also gigging and recording with different performers and bands. In 1997 moved to Christchurch for a short period as a busker made enough money to relocate to Australia where he continued his musical training at the School of Creative Arts, Oxford Falls in the Northern Beaches of Sydney. In 2000 moved to the South Coast of New South Wales and completed his teaching qualifications. He taught various subjects in the public school system up till 2007, in 2008 accepted a place at University for medical school. Currently apart from being a Rock God Wannabe, he also finds time to be a part time casual phlebotomist.
