There was a man from Allentown who fed his son to death
He calmly watched him gorge himself until his final breath
And there he stood surprised and shocked above his tiny frame
He said, "I bear no blame for this I only share his name"

@TravisSchaeffer, cheesefries1: OK, so I was a bit rash. My bad guys. I guess I'm just overly sensitive about overtly Christian themes in music, mainly because, as an atheist, it can often be overwhelming and unwelcome. Anyway, Max Bemis is a songwriting genius, so I should hardly be complaining no matter what his motivations. This song is great.

On the religion debate- Max was born and raised a Jew, it's only this album that he's started to turn to Christianity. I think Sherri (his new wife) has had an influence on him. Or he's come to some sort of realization. I don't know, but listen to 'Died A Jew'. That song basically rips the shit out of Christianity, and that was only a few years ago.

@conditionals what are you smoking? Hes not forcing anything onto you. I am an atheist and I agree with what he says. If there was a Jesus Christ he would be ashamed at what Christianity has become and how people use his name. Listen to the words instead of just picking out that he is talking about Jesus. From the "Fed to Death" demo: They carved an idol from his bones to sell on mugs and t-shirts. And if he were to spring to life and see you speak his name He'd climb right back up on the cross and hang his head in shame forever This is forever.

it's pretty clear it's about jesus. Especially the whole cross/hang your head in shame and 'forcing his image on mugs and t-shirts'

I have nothing against Christianity, or any religion. But I can't stand it when bands (outside of the Religious subgenres) force their spirituality down your throat. It's really alienating.
