Ok so Zonaria were first up and they played a blackened death metal set with plenty of vigor and confidence for a young band. I like them.
The Bezerker were next and I must confess to not being an enormous fan, the songs all seem to merge into one for me, but they were ok and delivered a pummelling set of grindcore.
When I last saw Satyricon 2 years ago,they were playing the Islington Acadamy, a much larger venue than ULU , but this suits me fine as the intimacy here is fantastic.
The band start with a track from Volcano Angstridden which was a bit of a suprise, and then headed off into The Wolfpack from the new album.
Satyr was sporting his new look short hair style which was a bit strnage and the mighty Frost was at his pummelling best on the skins.This band are at the top of their game at the moment and they produced a thoroughly entertaining set and a great evening was had by all I think: The set list was:
