From The Andrew Lloyd Webber Collection and 16 other releases

“The Phantom of the Opera” is a song from the Andrew Lloyd Webber musical of the same name. Sarah Brightman helped to inspire her then-husband to write the music and she originated the role of Christine Daae. The song was released as a promotional single performed as a duet with Cockney Rebel’s Steve Harley. Sarah Brightman later performed the song with Michael Crawford in the musical version, which is the version featured on the original London cast recording. This song appears in the musical when the Phantom takes Christine to his underground lair for the first time. Christine’s highest note in the musical in heard in this song when Sarah Brightman ends the song with an E6.

It says I have listened to this track 4 times before, but I'm sure I've not heard this version before (this one I'm listening to now is not as good)

Classic version. In my opinion both originals of London's West End as well as Broadway. On this version, you get an absolute experience of Sarah's vocal range. Michael Crawford will always be my favorite Phantom, but Ramin Karimloo is certainly running a close second with John Owen Jones coming in at third.
