Biography
For a while most people still recalled her as the precocious next-generation talent that produced one of the defining hits of the internet age, ‘I Wish I Was A Punk Rock (With Flowers In My Hair)’, this talented singer-songwriter has come a long way in the years since then.
As Sandi now says, “The strange thing about having the kind of success I had, people think they know you. In fact, people don’t know me at all.”
That is all about to change, however, with the release of Sandi’s superb new album, Flesh and Blood. Recorded at Nashville’s legendary 16 Tons studio, with celebrated Black Crowes guitarist Rich Robinson in the production hot seat, the fourth Sandi Thom album is, she says, “the first album I’ve made that is really all about me.”
Describing it as “a new chapter” in her story, personally and professionally, she adds: “I never liked to pigeonhole myself. I feel like my sound and voice have been naturally developing since I was 14-years-old, and that it’s only now I’ve finally hit upon what I really sound like.”
It’s a sound that combines the blues-rock raunch of belting opening track ‘Help Me’ with the balladic, country-flavoured charm of ‘In The Pines’; that shows how to funk it up, as on the strutting, clavinet-led ‘Stormy Weather’; and that knows how to break your heart, as with the movingly climactic finale track, ‘Lay Your Burden Down’.

Sandi Thom's own label Guardian Angels Records now under Universal Music Group. The structure of the label means it acts as a one-stop shop - from cultivating artists to producing and distributing an album. Thom and her team handle recording, publishing, management, live-booking, licensing, design, trademarks and merchandising. “We are looking to grow beyond the set standard, paving the way for a new age in the music industry - coupling zest, creativity and determination with independence, new technology and nose-to-the-grindstone hard work.” Jim Urie, president and CEO, Universal Music Group Distribution commented: "We expect a great deal from an artist of Sandi's caliber and the imprint she has created, Guardian Angels Records." With a label publishing deal through P & P Songs along with distribution deals with Nova for the UK and Fontana International for Europe, the label is also poised for Thom’s debut release on the label in August.

Sandi Thom's record label Guardian Angels will be hosting their very own stage at Liverpool's Threshold Festival on Sunday 12th February at legendary venue The Picket. Expect to see performances from the Dublin blues man Dave O'Grady, a host of other Liverpool favourites and Sandi herself. Early bird tickets are now available for only £7 which covers the whole weekends worth of festival events at multiple locations across the city, bargain !

OMG! she is now paying her fans to like her and calling them affiliates so she can cut down on her promotions bill.. One internet campaign to many i think. Bribery goes a long way these days. Better get the boyfriend to pop the question girl, your 30 and still single and no sign of kiddies. The clock is ticking and playing the number 2 circuit around the UK for the next ten years on your own isnt exactly what you planned was it?

'I Wish I Was A Punk Rocker (With Flowers In My Hair)' is probably the most pseudo-nostalgic garbage i've ever heard in my life, the lyrics really try so hard to make up a fairy tale vision of the past. She obviously doesn't know what the fuck she's talking about and it ends up just being extremely dumb and really really reaaaally annoying
