Essex, England (2002 – present)

There are at least 2 bands who are/were called Sanctorum.

1) Sanctorum are a metal band from and located in Essex, England and have been together since late 2002.

The current line-up is:
Aaron Sly - Lead Vocals / Guitar
Matt Alston - Drums & Percussion / Backing Vocals
Adam Paterson - Bass / Backing Vocals
Al Commons - Lead Guitar / Backing Vocals

“Raw, relentless, riff-tastic and Metal as F**k…”

In brief a metal machine… just some of the words used to describe the talents of Sanctorum in recent years.

Sanctorum started life as ‘Devolution’ when in 2002 a group of friends forged the band from a common love of anything heavy, fast and loud. Throughout 2003 they concentrated on writing original material and supporting local bands at gigs in the Colchester area culminating at the end of 2003 with a self financed 4 track debut EP CD entitled ‘Penumbra’.

Throughout 2004/05 as ‘Devolution’ they continued to write and gig during which time ‘Penumbra’ received very positive reviews from many Webzines. In September 2005 ‘Devolution’ became ‘Sanctorum’ to avoid confusion with other bands of the same name.

Late in 2004 another fully self financed project started to take shape culminating in the album entitled ‘The Heavens Shall Burn’, originally released in 2006 - RE-released in 2007 through Casket Music.

Sorry for the slow reply, don't often check Thanks for the compliment on Ashes. We are currently recording the new CD and it's coming together nicely :) We will be doing tours and shows to promote it so hopefully we can get ourselves to Glasgow for ya. As for Damnation, we would love to play it! Maybe it'll happen

Ill hold you to that, keep the production levels up,, its a stand out feature of Ashes of Redemption just how well everything glues together and nothings overshadowed. Going to be heading back to Glasgow again, or get yourselves on Damnation?
