San Andreas

Some bands do things in the strangest order. There seems to be no logic behind anything they do. But hey, things work, so why would they stop? Emo-core loudmouths San Andreas (Rotterdam/The Netherlands) are the absolute limit if it comes to being bang out of order. They booked a U.K. tour before they even had songs! Half a year later they booked the longest U.K. tour by a Dutch band in 2005: three consecutive weeks, checking out every pub and club in Albion. They applied for the South by Southwest music conference and got an invitation to go there before anybody at home in Holland had ever even heard of them.

After touring 2,5 years straight, they took time off to write their next masterpiece. Vocalist Sopo: “When our first album ‘The Lover Kills’ was released in 2005, we got a lot of positive responses and played about 125 shows that year. For our next album, we felt that we wanted to follow a natural progression: to create a more grown-up and evolved record.” Thus San Andreas teamed up with producer René van der Zee (Cooper/Kung Fu records). Sopo: “René told us basically to follow our hearts and make the music WE wanted to make. All pieces fell in place shortly after this and now we feel like we’ve made the best album we possibly could have made at this moment and we are all extremely proud of it.”

Their debut CD ‘The Lover Kills’ was released through Squash Records. Sopo: “For this new record, we really wanted to step onto the next level”. They struck gold hooking up with the U.K. based label Lockjaw Records (Tribute To Nothing, Muse, A New Day).

‘Man Or Monster’ will be released 3rd of November in the U.K. A European release date is set for 7th of November.

know what you mean, but i still disagree. I don't think Dutch band need an English or an American Accent, they're just singing English songs right? I don't think you have an accent if it's not a proper english language. Does that make any sense? :P

through all the songs, especially on the EP, there is a dutch accent noticable when singing. during the faster/louder songs, its hardly noticable, but he fails to cover it on the track As We Come. pity, but i LOVE them anyway.

I'm serieus but where does his english sounds bad? I've listened to the songs a thousand times, but I can't find any big mistakes. Who cares about that anyway? I do think he's perfect for the band. But hey, everyones in entitled to his own opinion.

i disagree with unknown drug! the vocalist suits the music perfectly, his voice is as chaotic as the music. though, his english isnt the best.

I was at that show and I kinda enjoyed it :p Thought the bassist was especially talented, wasn't that big on the vocals though. Well, the drummer was a good backing vocalist I thought.

I've seen them live in Amsterdam as support act for Disco Ensemble. I was kinda supprised how it sucked. The singer doens't have a voice that fits the music somehow. Didn't take it seriously.
