That beautiful combination of seemingly simple jazz riffs and big band motifs underpinned by the most incredible cacophony of dissonance and free-dom. Sorry I don't know the musical terms........it's like the band going down with the Titanic had all caught a tiny bit of rabies.

'Beatrice' is such a lovely tune that I could listen to it all day. I have the Blue Note version.

The cover does not fit here! If you actually listen, you will hear Steve Coleman, Ray Anderson and probably Greg Osby too. They would have been rather young to fit in to a 1960´s-box, wouldn´t they? Nah, this one is from the 1990´s!
