From Born Too Late and 2 other releases

Saint Vitus is from Los Angeles, California, formed in 1979 under the name “Tyrant” with Scott reagers on vocals, Dave Chandler on Guitar, Mark Adams on Bass, and Armando Acosta on Drums.

The band soon changed their name to Saint Vitus, after the song by the same name recorded by the legendary Black sabbath. Original singer Scott Reagers sang on… St. Vitus, Hallow’s Victim, the Walking Dead EP, and 1995’s Die Healing. Scott (Wino) Weinrich sings and plays some guitar on Born too Late, Mournful Cries, V, Thirsty and Miserable EP,and Live. Christian Linderson (Count Raven, Terra Firma) sang on 1993’s COD.

The song Clear Windowpane, off the CD Born too Late, is the groups first effort with Scott Weinrich on vocals. The mood of Born too Late is slow , heavy, and distorted, which heavily influenced the sound of the doom genre. Saint Vitus are looked up to as (along with Black Sabbath and Pentagram) the fathers of doom. The song is about the effects LSD has on one’s mind.

The band hails from California, but fits more into the MD/ DC (DOOM Capital) style of heavy, fuzzed out, distorted, acid influenced, super charged, soulful, and energized DOOM METAL. Scott (Wino) is from MD, where he later formed such notable bands as the Obsessed, the Hidden Hand, Spirirt Caravan, and nowdays his solo project WINO.

As a side project Dave Chandler formed the band Debris, Inc. in California.

In 2008 the original lineup reformed, and played some dates in Europe in spring and summer 2009.
