Postman (3:46)

Cover of Good Humor

From Good Humor and 1 other release

Written by Bob Stanley, Pete Wiggs & Sarah Cracknell
Produced by Tore Johansson

Recorded Spring 1997
Released May 1998 on Good Humor

Notes “The lyric was based on the painting of Del Shannon in Nik Cohn and Guy Peellaert’s Rock Dreams. He isn’t even a postman, he’s a homecoming soldier. I don’t know why I thought he was a postman. It’s nothing to do with Kevin Costner, anyway.” (Bob Stanley, 2010).

Notes “Icy, bass and piano verse gives way to mournful but uplifting chorus. Del Shannon stars as tragic nice guy who always picks a bad pony. Gorgeous, tearful, Christmas mood.” (Bob Stanley, 1998).

On a fog bound morning
With my frozen tiger feet
All done, so I clocked off early
Walked down our street
