Notes The cafe is a real place, found here. However, the real inspiration came from a place called Moonlight Cafe in Tufnell Park. The names mentioned in the song belong to the band’s friends. Prince B fronted lazy-age hip-hoppers PM Dawn. The Glitter Band were Gary Glitter’s backing, of course, and you all know who The KLF are. The Racing Post is a newspaper dedicated to horse-racing news, form and results. Chris Eubank is a retired UK boxer.

The sample at the beginning is of Dirk Bogarde reading a line from his poem, Steel Cathedrals. The song also samples Soulful Strings version of The Temptations I Wish It Would Rain. This string sample also formed the bulk of instrumental B-side Scene 93 from April ‘92’s Join Our Club single. The song had a sequel called Black Horse Latitude which was due to appear on the next LP, Tiger Bay.
