Sacred Warrior hailed from Chicago and were one of the early pioneers in Christian heavy metal. They played a brand of melodic/slightly progressive metal that showed heavy influence from Metal Church and Queensryche (vocalist Rey Parra sounds remarkably like Geoff Tate).   • It's so sad seeing that this band is extremely overlooked because they're christians. "Obsessions" is one of the greatest US-metal albums I've ever listened to.
  • All you haters that seem to think that Christianity and religion are the same thing, the error in your thinking lies in just that; true Christianity is not really a religion at all ("religion" being defined as a set of traditions and rules followed for theological reasons). Rather, Christianity is about having a personal relationship with God through his son Jesus Christ, and following His commands should come naturally as part of our faith if we truly desire that relationship. In any case, Sacred Warrior is a most excellent band.
  • As much as the music has Christian based lyrics and myself disliking religion in general, it is still a good listen.
