Well well, arrived a few hours ago at home from my first Wacken. Man, what an experience... In the following some of my thoughts about the festival.
We, a group of 7 guys, arrived by train around 10 o'clock Wednesday morning in Itzehoe. From there we continued our way with the shuttle bus to the holy camping grounds of Wacken. We got some decent places for our tents, about 10 mins away from the festival site. The rest of the day was quite simple: Exploring the festival sites and the village Wacken, talking and drinking with different people and seeing Metakilla . Oh and getting lost on the way back to the tent. :D Anyways, even without any bands playing on that day, my first impressions were great.
edit: Oh, and I bought a drinking horn on that day. :D MET!
On thursday morning, after a nice döner breakfast (hell yea!), we went to the local swimming pools - which helped out a lil with the hangover. …
00.Intro: Sun Tzu Says
02.The Art of War (?)
04.Rise of Evil
05.Into the Fire
06.The Price of a Mile
09.In the Name of God
10.Cliffs of Gallipoli
12.Light in the Black
14.Metal Machine / Metal Crüe
Jag är faktiskt inte helt säker på varken om eller i så fall när The Art of War spelades, men jag har ett minne av att den skulle vara ungefär där. …

27 May 2008, 23:28 by tattartotteAlright, I'll have to sing some praise to the best band there is at the moment. Sabaton. So I got myself the new album "The Art of War" and after "alot" of listens to it, I just have to say that this album is by far the best album they have made. And this says quite alot since both Primo Victoria and Attero Dominatus (and metalizer to some degree) are 2 increadibly good albums.
I really hope that with this album Sabaton will get the attention they so deserve from the metal scene, so do youre best and promote them to your friends.
Gliffs of Gallioppoli and The Price of a Mile gives me goosebumps every time.
24 May 2008, 23:52 by DryorophusI have now listen to the album "The Art of War" and here are my first thoughts about it. (I know that the album was not released yet. But I got this from a friend, and I will buy the album)
Track 1 - "Sun Tzu Says"
This is the intro to the disc and it is a woman talking
Track 2 - "Ghost Division"
This track starts strong and just gets heavier.
The first idea I had was "Will the album be as good, that this song is. Then this album is gonna be the best album ever"
Track 3 - ".The Art of War"
Here we have the title track. It starts well, but it gets bad and I do not like the song so much. But I think it's a song that gets better and better each time you listen to it.
Track 4 - "40-1"
When I saw the title of this song it was "40:1" and I was worried that it would be a bible quote, but it is not.
The song is pretty good. If "Ghost Division" was 5 / 5 and "The Art of War" was 4 / 5 then this is a 4.5 / 5.
