Within just a few years, Sam Pool, aka SPL has become an influential force in the world of dance music. With a background built upon years of work in the studio and live performance, SPL has materialized his vision of futuristic sounds and delivered it to the world in the form of groundbreaking records and captivating DJ sets. In 2007, SPL went full throttle with his hugely successful record label “Lost Soul Recordings” delivering a slew of releases from today’s most talented producers in drum and bass. Since then, SPL has launched the already massive “Hollow Point Recordings” with DJ Roommate for a heavy new take on dubstep music. He has also released on the seminal “Genosha Recordings,” which has taken the hardcore techno scene by storm. While running two record labels, touring the globe, and producing various styles of electronic music, SPL continues to deliver cutting-edge sounds to countless ears around planet earth.

"A few years ago dubstep would put the dancefloor to sleep at most of the big shows I played in Eastern Europe & Russia. It made me so sad because I really wanted to play more of it back then. Now I'm STOKED because people actually embrace it here in the states. And the music I can get away with playing has gotten way more melodic/pretty/catchy, which I happen to dig. This was NOT well received when I was booked for mostly Dark DnB shows. I couldn't get booked at any of the "non-evil" DnB gigs because my music was too hard/dark. Finally it feels like my home country has caught up with music I like to produce and I think is cool. I'd like to think that Sonny has played a part in that. Now I can play Hard/Soft/Dark/Uplifting/Sparse/Busy, whatever happens to flow. " - Comment from SPL in discussion where he thinks Skrillex is awesome. If you're hoping for DNB/Hardcore from SPL again, you're probably going to have to wait a long time.

Forever Lost, a bunch of really sweet tunes. Don't think he's going back to produce this kind of hard dnb or hardcore though, Dubstep pays better.

Fell in love with his dnb the moment I heard it, but to me, it's not his dnb vs dubstep. I'm all about 'The Deaf EP'. Hands down one of my favorite hardcore 12". Dude needs to do a full length hardcore record soon.
