Born in the Doubs but high in the bright sunlight of Algiers, Samira Brahmia is a brilliant student.With her baccalaureate, she was accepted at Polytechnic, one of the largest schools in France. But the military is not at all to her liking and she prefers to continue studying economics. While following her university career, she became interested in music, even if nothing predisposes to become an artist. But it is a discovery and a fascination, which are more appropriate than statistical relationships between financial
Markets.

She went on stage in 1994 as a backing vocalist for Index, Algerian flagship group of the 90s, but cannot find anyone to help her interpret her personal songs. Merzak Allouache director of, among others Chouchou mark her talent and chose to give her a little push. He invites her to his film “Un autre monde”and introduced her to Amazigh Kateb leader of Gnawa Diffusion.Astonished by her music; she has to occur in the first part of their tour of Algeria.

In 2002, she participated in thePetit Festival en Herbe, a festival of French music that aims to discover new talent. With its success, she decided to leave Algeria to settle in France. In March 2003, invited to Paris to attend the second festivals “Femmes d’Algérie”, she became the flagship of this discovery rally gives way to the singers of the Maghreb.

She was working on her first album Naïliya and refines her style profoundly mixed while lending her talents to other adventures. Meanwhile she participates in the formation of the singer Hasna el Becharia or ensures musical parts of the equestrian’s company Salam Toto.

Increasingly sought in the Maghreb, the public and the media, Samira Brahmia makes regular trips between the two sides to feed her inspiration. In 2010 she was invited to the Festival Off d’Avignon, then the Alliance Franco-Moroccan who is playing all over Morocco.
