Biography

S.K.I.N. is a supergroup consisting of several Japanese rock musicians. Formed in 2007, in Los Angeles, California, it includes Gackt, Miyavi, Sugizo and Yoshiki. In August 2006, Yoshiki (of X Japan) announced at Otakon that he would start a band with Gackt (formerly in Malice Mizer). In December of the same year, it was reported that Sugizo (formerly in Luna Sea) might be joining the group as the third member.

On May 25, 2007, at the JRock Revolution festival in Los Angeles, S.K.I.N. was eventually announced, including the previously discussed artists, as well as Miyavi (formerly in Dué le quartz). Yoshiki confirmed that the group will release an album and that rough recordings of several songs were made in March 2007. The band gave its debut performance on June 29, 2007 at the Anime Expo in Long Beach, California, with Ju-ken, bassist of Gackt’s support band GacktJob on bass.
