Sıla Gençoğlu is a Turkish musician whose music has pop and electronic elements. She usually goes by her first name ‘Sıla’
Sıla was born in Denizli. She worked before as a producer, lyricist and background singer for many Turkish artists like Kenan Doğulu and Emel Müftüoğlu. She released her first album “Sıla” in 2007. The first song released from it was “…Dan Sonra” and the biggest hit song of the year in Turkey. It spent 3 months at number one on the music charts. Also the song reached place 79 in the European chart and the video of the song brought her the 12th video (award?) which was most watched in 2007-2008 in the worldwide. After the big success of “…Dan Sonra”, she released “Kenar Süsü” as her 2nd single from her self-titled album. With again a great success, she reached the 2nd place in the official Turkish chart.
