Biography
Sérgio Godinho is a Portuguese poet, composer, and singer. He was born in 1945 in Porto, Portugal, and is, probably, the greatest name of Portuguese popular music, after Zeca Afonso. Their music styles are quite different: often Sérgio Godinho’s songs are of a more urban style.
Godinho was one of the interventionist singers in the 1974 revolution, which helped to move Portugal away from a dictatorial regime into a democracy.
