Biography

There are at least 2 artists named Ryan Williams:

1) Williams was the Godfather of the Newport Toucher Scene (NTS).

Williams was a visionary. He saw that bourgeoisie concepts such as talent and ability were taking the danger and spontaneity out of music. Williams launched a manifesto to save music in 2004. There were many, many, many parts to this manifesto but the most striking part of Williams’ dogma was the insistence that all members of the Newport Toucher Scene must not be able to sing or play an instrument. All members of the NTS were expected to aspire to Williams’ own level of non-competence. Among the other pronouncements made by Williams were “No Drummers”, “All bands must have one cyborg”, “No song must lack a 14 minute guitar solo”

In 2006 Williams disappeared. During his career he often mentioned shadowy cliques that dogged his every move. While there is no evidence to back-up this assertion, some believe that one of the 8 or 9 cliques Williams battled finally did for him. One of the last things Williams told his followers was his “We must destroy music to save music. As every day passes, in every way, I have less and less talent in my life. Soon I will ascend” Williams is sorely missed by the members of the NTS and their dozens of fans. Many live in hope of hearing the cry “Ooooh nice :) Cheers for that :)” once again

2) Ryan Williams is a singer-songwriter from Pittsburgh, PA. Website: http://ryanwilliams.bandcamp.com/
