Faith Of The Heart (4:09)

About this track

The correct name of the Russell Watson version of this track is “Where My Heart Will Take Me”.

“Where My Heart Will Take Me” is a reworked version of “Faith of the Heart”, which was performed by English tenor Russell Watson as the theme song to the 2001 television series Star Trek: Enterprise. The song was featured on the soundtrack to Enterprise and Watson’s 2002 album, Encore. A version of the theme was also sung as the “Athlete’s Theme” live by Russell Watson at the Opening Ceremony of the 2002 Commonwealth Games, in Manchester, UK.

On August 2, 2005, a recording of “Where My Heart Will Take Me” was played for the crew of the space shuttle Discovery as their morning wake-up call during the “Return to Flight” mission STS-114. The song was chosen as a special dedication from Deputy Shuttle Program Manager Wayne Hale. The song was played again two years later on August 9, 2007 as the morning wake-up call of the first day of the STS-118 mission. The song was dedicated to astronaut Rick Mastracchio.

The song is written by Diane Warren and originally performed by Rod Stewart for the soundtrack to the 1998 film Patch Adams.

I Love this Song. Not this concert version though. The Star Trek Version is Much better timing rythm and verses.WHY do I like it ...because it's the song I use to motivate myself; mentaly ,physicaly and psychologicaly. It just happens to be played on "enterprise" STAY MOTIVATED. watavew

I like it. :) It lives inside my brain now, after watching the whole series of "Enterprise" for 4 times. 98 episodes x 4 times = 392. Not to mention the plays on and in my car. LOL

This song has a solid melody, but the arrangement is terrible and completely inappropriate for Star Trek. Nonetheless, as MurkyShadow mentioned, after hearing it a few dozen times it certainly becomes more listenable.

Oh yeah, it's all about Enterprise. Otherwise - ugh.

In all fairness... I always loved this song. Until they sped it up later on that is.

This song is mainly good because of the association with Enterprise, but that is just my opinion.
