Run Level Zero

Run Level Zero is a band creating electronic music in the same vein as the European and Canadian ebm/industrial masters. The inspiration comes from all sorts of music though. Art and literature and whatever we think is important enough to put into a song eventually end up into the soup.
Easy to swallow for some - noxious to others.

The band hails from Stockholm, Sweden. Current line-up is Hans Åkerman (vocals), Ville Hising (keyboards) and Ola Sundell (live drums).

Run Level Zero has released several discs in both Europe and North America. Memento Materia, who own the world rights, has license deals with DSBP and Minuswelt. RLZ has appeared on many compilations and remixed artists such as Pzychobitch, Punto Omega, Clan of Xymox and Psyche.

The band has toured Europe twice (supported VNV Nation in 2001 and Assemblage 23 in 2005) and will tour the United States in 2006.

In 2001 the band were voted “Best Newcomer” at SAMA, Swedish Alternative Music Awards.

Run Level Zero was formed in January 1999 in Stockholm/Sweden by Hans Åkerman and Fredrik Solenberg. By that time they had already been making music together during four years under different names and musical directions.

In August 2000 Run Level Zero signed with indie label DSBP for the North American market. The very first live appearance for Run Level Zero took place in September as they were opening for Psyche in Linköping, Sweden. The label Memento Materia was present at the gig and signed Run Level Zero for the rest of the world shortly afterwards.

One of those few modern 'EBM'-bands that have an original switch and that really work on their music. Great stuff!

Please help me vote for this remix Lights of Euphoria did of our song Shadows Merging. It's mislabeled as one of their songs. (I propose you label it as Run Level Zero - Shadows Merging (Lights of Euphoria remix)

Thanks Witchlight - we had a fantastic time meeting all the nice Canadian peeps and the audience was very supportive. Hope to come back soon! Sorry we weren't able to bring any merch. We have them here in Sweden but not sure how much the p&p would cost to send them to Canada.

That's the problem when thieving little bastiches pirate music rather than buying the CD. To see that the name of the song was 'The End of the Whorl' I just looked at the liner notes of THE CD I BOUGHT. If you enjoy Run Level Zero's music and want to hear more from them (like I do) you really should support them and PAY for their music!

Suicide-Society: The mistake is easy to make since the play on words on our end wasn't that obvious. I think Hakushi just didn't know it was intentional.

Vote? Are you silly? ... The Song is Run Level Zero's Song and the Titel too! It's not your art (music is art)!!! Art is free. Art don't need artnazis or spellignazis.

Actually hakushi, that's the correct spelling. It's a play on words...whorl means spiral or curl.
