I hear a lot more regret in Rufus' version, the original is more ambivalent. Which tends to happen in covers of Cohen unfortunately. I do think Rufus' voice sounds especially heavenly here.

Rufus really puts the longing into this song and the heartbreak. Cohen's version is more matter of fact and objective. I love both versions but Rufus really found the heart the heart of the song
