Gakko has provided the answer about the piano player - Phineas Newborn Jr. This is a great track (I think it's picking up on an R&B hit from the late 1940s?

Just look at the date for this recording. They were kind of ahead of their time here. The attitude is just fantastic; it sounds like a live album, not because of some poor sound equipment, but from he way they let their energy free! Roy sounds a little bit like Elvin Jones here (now bash my head for saying that!) --- Phineas Newborn Jr. (p) Paul Chambers (b) Roy Haynes (d) Rudy Van Gelder Studio, Hackensack, NJ, November 14, 1958
