I like the sound they achieved, they just should have learned to make more memorable/interesting songs. It is possible to do skull crushingly heavy and interesting riffs at the same time, although I know a lot of death metal bands would purposely make songs that don't "make sense" from a music theory standpoint, as kind of an "anti-music" statement.
I passed over 'Iniquitous' a hundred times over the years, never bothering to listen to them. What a fool I was. It is as good as 'Onward to Golgotha', 'Altars of Madness', 'Effigy of the Forgotten', or any other classic American Death Metal release.
