Biography

Australia (2002 – present)

Rogue Traders are an ARIA-award winning and influenced music act from Australia, notable for the 2006 international hit singles “Watching You” and “Voodoo Child”.

They are made up of James Ash, Tim Henwood, Peter Marin, and new vocalist Mindi Jackson. The group’s original members (James Ash, Steve Davis) met in London in 1989. Before forming Rogue Traders in 2002, Ash and Davis worked together on many projects, most notably as dance act Union State. Former members of the Rogue Traders include Cameron McGlinchey and Natalie Bassingthwaighte.

In 2003, Rogue Traders (then James Ash with Steve Davis) released their debut album We Know What You’re Up To In Australia. Their first single “Give In To Me”, was a minor Australian ARIAnet top 100 chart single. Their second single was a lot more successful. They remixed INXS’s “I Need You Tonight”, renaming it “One Of My Kind”, peaking at #10 in Australia. A third single, “Stay?”, gave them another minor top 100 chart single. “Give In To Me” won them an ARIA for best dance track.

In Australia they returned in 2005, with their album Here Come The Drums, along with new band member Neighbours’ Natalie Bassingthwaighte. The first single “Voodoo Child”, reached number #4 in Australia, and #7 in New Zealand (their biggest hit yet) and made the band a household name. The second single from the album “Way to Go” reached #7 in Australia, and the third single from their album was “Watching You” which was their second single to reach the top 5, peaking at #5 in Australia.

If the new girl didnt try to be/sound so much like Nat, then maybe, just maybe, I would of liked her. [2] Exactly, if she had tried to be herself and not fit into Nat's shoes then I would of continued to listen, but nty. Here Come The Drums & Better In The Dark ftw. (2) This is why I wanted a boy. A boy would force them to rethink themselves.

Their new announced Sydney show has tickets from $50 to $80 (At the Lyric Theatre??).. I think it's really odd & they should 'start again' with cheaper gigs to gain a new fanbase back, honestly.. I wouldn't pay that much for them this time around.

@pinkfinity You can't compare Mindi to Nat! Mindi is sooo different she has such a unusual but awesome voice! Nat was and still is a great singer but they have both very different styles
