    This is a track I must have heard on an obscure compilation some 20 years ago. It's stayed in my memory, even though I had no idea who the singer was. I'm really glad to have rediscovered it and Robert Wilkins. Now I've got to track down his original version of Rolling Stone.

    It’s not just American music. Much of the folk music (John barleycorn, etc.) created from English speaking lands were about rebels and villains. Violence is a inherited part of the music.

    You know , people make such a big deal aboput hip-hop being so violent but they don't understand that it's nothing new under the sun.... American music has always been quite violent if they herd this they would deffinetly flip
