  • I see. Regardless, he was artistically brilliant. And that should be stressed. I don't care if he had to resort to playing with his toes.
  • Probably because he injured his hand in an attempt to improve the spacing between his fingers (or something like that)...I think most biographers acknowledge he had talent, but his performing potential was somewhat squandered.
  • His skill was quite exceptional. I don't know why the bio compares him negatively to other composers the way it does. Don't see the point. He was a master composer.
