Robert Pollard (born October 31, 1957) is a Dayton, Ohio singer-songwriter, who until 2004 was the leader and creative force behind indie rock group Guided by Voices.   • The Pollard/Tobias material has such an appealing sameness (eventually you start being able to predict exactly when and how he'll switch up the drum beat) and bewildering diversity. I could take a bath in it all day.
