Robert Mirabal

Robert Mirabal’s Native American heritage and the Taos Pueblo homelands where he was born and raised have always been an integral part of his music and his very being as an artist and storyteller. Having spent the past two decades sharing some of the rich culture and traditions of his people through song, dance, poetry, painting, acting, composing and working the land, the celebrated, Grammy-winning performer returns to television once again with the creation of a brand new PBS special. Robert Mirabal: Music and Myth will explore the history of the Pueblo peoples of the Southwest like never before, through music, dance and stories from his early life as a child growing up in northern New Mexico.

The new special is inspired in part by Robert’s experience over the past decade in the foothills of the sacred Taos Mountain, working the land, revisiting childhood memories and renewing his faith in indigenous teachings.

The sound of Native American flute is very similar to my country's folk music. It's like, I hear tunes of my homeland. That's why Robert Mirabal, I love your songs and the tunes of your flute. Flute is a very ancient instrument of greek culture. Listening to your songs, I'm feeling that I'm in my homeland and I hear tunes of greek flute. Your sound goes straight to my heart.

It's a strange song, that's for sure. But it's at the end of the live album, so it's probably supposed to be some kind of outro.. ;-)

i am not sure i understand what is going on. I am listening to Stiltwalker. It is mysterious in a sad sort of way. Why is there beautiful music in the background? It sounds like the man is struggling. he is having trouble of some sort. Not my style. Not good unless you like to hear people struggle.
