I think Johnson was as good as he was not from selling his soul but that he was naturally talanted and he praticed alot...

The answer to your question is Tommy Johnson & Skip James. Look ‘em up, you’ll find plenty of supernatural references and occult suspicions. It was Son House who created the story about Robert selling his soul.

Supernatural took a few of Robert Johnson's images for their mythology. It was said IRL that RJ did a deal with the devil at a crossroads to be the best blues singer ever and that when he died he was raving about hell hounds coming to get him. The mythos of deals at a crossroads is pretty standard in majickal circles but it makes a good story.

wasn't this song the inspiration for a supernatural episode?

This is a dark, dark track. Did any other of his generation of bluesmen go so far with images of the devil, hellhounds etc?
