Rise of Raphia are a hard working progressive metal band based in south Kent featuring members (past and present) of Cubic Space Division, Jairus, Yndi Halda and Moesaboa. The bands music has turned heads and raised eyebrows with a new take on musical technicality and the ability to forge a new sound, whist appealing to the ever growing metal fraternity.

The band have just finished recording the EP ‘Cloaca’ which was mastered by Alan Douches (Dillinger Escape Plan, Converge, Mastodon + many more). With the focus on live performance coupled with an experienced attitude towards touring and promotion, Rise of Raphia hope to make waves in the growing British metal scene.

“These Kent young-uns certainly bring the chaos on their debut EP, variously sounding like Converge, Norma Jean, old Every Time I Die and older Cave In” Rock Sound

“It’s likely the band will forever live in the shadows of Gallows, despite being miles better” (haha) Chasing Safety

“Frantic, riff-laden mathcore” Terrorizer

“Take the flesh ripping mentality of Norma Jean, add the party rock of Every Time I Die and the classic noise brutality of scene god’s Converge” Gintramp
