Rise Robots Rise was an experimental hip-hop band integrating elements of soul, techno and jazz along with spoken/sung lyrics. They were signed to TVT in the early 1990s and later to Fibre Productions. Tom Jones covered their song “If I Only Knew” and RRR remixed Emergency Broadcast Network’s song “3:7:8”

Although the albums don’t list any band members, the core of the band appears to be Joe Mendelson and Ben Nitze, as most of the tracks are listed as written by the two of them. There is also a wide range of guest artists contributing to their rather unique sound.

A partial list of artists credited or assumed to be involved follows:

I remember finding this CD in a bargain bin at my local CD store, and liking the cover and the name, and buying it on the spot. All Sewn Up and The Way We Move are awesome tracks.
