imho, it sounds much more like 'tomorrow never knows' than taxman-and even the title 'seagull' makes me think of the noises in 't.n.k.' . ace tune either way!

lol @ people being angry this sounds like Taxman. let's just ignore the fact that a number of legendary nineties acts such as Ride, MBV, Spiritualized, Boo Radleys, etc. directly lifted elements from their influences as well

Maybe paying Homage to the Beatles with that bass line . But I myself have never really cared that much for the Beatles ,,, Which sets me at odds with just about my entire generation ,since I grew up listening to them in their later years. I thought Oasis was better . And This song just kicked the crap out of just about the entire Beatles library - Not bad - Not bad at all .

Brilliant use of the taxman bass, it just compliments the song they built around it so well.

I think it's more of a homage than a rip off. Being serious, they knew they couldn't get away with ripping off a riff from the most popular band on Earth and saying they wrote it.

Yeah, that bass riff is Taxman. At least they have the decency to swipe from awesome bands like The Beatles.
